A

A seed is a part of a plant that is formed from fertilized plant ovules. Seeds contain all the information needed for them to grow into a new plant.

Some parts are common to every seed, no matter the type of fruit. They are

a. The tesla, a thin layer that surrounds the seed.

b. The micropyle, the entry point of water into the seed.

c. The cotyledon, the plant’s food store.

d. The radicle, which develops to form the roots of the plant.

e. The plumule is the part of the seed that forms leaf buds.
