Describe the difference between dendrites and axons

A

Axons are nerve fibers that are long and slender and are projected from a nerve cell, and function as conductors of impulses outwards from the cell body to a synapse. Dendrites are slender projections of nerve cells that function as conductors of nerve impulses inwards from a synapse to the body of a cell.

For each nerve cell, there is only one corresponding axon, while many dendrites are located around each nerve cell.

Axons arise from the end of the neurons that discharge nerve impulses, while dendrites arise from the end of the neurons that receive nerve impulses.
