How did the Missouri plan affect the governor’s powers?

A

The Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan, also known as the Missouri Plan came up with a means of choosing judges. The plan started in Missouri but was later moved to other states of America.  In this plan, a commission is put in place to study details concerning the proposed candidates. The commission lists the best options and sends their findings to the authority, who selects a judge from the provided list.

The governor’s powers were limited through the Missouri Court Plan when it allowed him to pick only between three choice candidates. However, it gave him the power to influence a commission to choose the chosen candidate to the advantage of the local political outfit.
