Constellations are beautiful sights to behold. These groups of stars form patterns that look like pictures. Orion is one such constellation among others like Leo the Lion and Taurus the Bull. Just like other constellations, Orion is a pattern that is recognizable and helps people familiarize themselves with their location through the night sky.
Out of the officially known constellations, Orion is visible on winter evenings mainly in the northern hemisphere but not the summer evenings. The Earth’s location in its orbit is the main reason for this. Orion is situated on the celestial equator and can be seen around the world during certain times of the year. It is overly recognizable and conspicuous in the night sky with the bright red Betelgeuse and blue-white Rigel stars overshadowing the rest in terms of brightness.
