What are the reactants of cellular respiration?

A

In cellular respiration, chemical energy gotten from oxygen molecules and nutrients are converted to adenosine triphosphate coupled with the release of waste products. This is how cells get the energy they use. Cellular respiration involves four stages which are; glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation, Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation but in summary, Oxygen and glucose are the reactants and they later produce carbon dioxide, water and energy which are the products. The reaction is given as C6H12 + 6CO2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy (ATP)

Therefore, the reactants of cellular respiration are glucose and carbon dioxide.
