How do I describe similarity between acids and bases?

A

Despite the sharp variations in their functions, acids and bases have a few similarities.

a. Both acids and bases are water-soluble. They dissolve in water to become diluted.

b. Both acids and bases are good conductors of electricity.

c. When subjected to the litmus test, both acids and bases change the color of litmus paper.

d. When concentrated, both acids and bases are harmful when they come in contact with human skin.

e. When dissolved in water, both acids and bases release ions into the water (ionization reaction).

f. On a pH scale, both acids and bases can be found on the extremes of both values (less than 7 for acids and greater than 7 for bases).

g. Both acids and bases tend to make metals rust. i.e., they are corrosive.

h. When acids and bases are mixed in water individually, the reaction releases heat (exothermic reaction).
