What is the fundamental theorem of calculus?

A

All concepts are based on fundamental truths that lay the foundation for their development. Calculus as a mathematical concept is based on the premise that an accumulation function of something is an antiderivative of it.

Taking the example of a curve, the accumulated area under it is described by how that curve grows. If an antiderivative for the integrand can be found, the definite integral can be evaluated using the antiderivative at the interval endpoints and subtracting.
