Which parts of acetylsalicylic acid are rigid?

A

Acetylsalicylic acid, also known as aspirin, is formed by a series of repeating pi-bonds. These pi-bonds are made up of overlapping covalent bonds and are concentrated in some parts of the compound. The concentrations of pi-bonds are found where the double bonds exist between carbon and oxygen, their neighboring atoms, as well as in the ring structure of the compound. The pi-bonds prevent the locally formed C=O bonds from rotating and make the bonds formed firmer or more rigid.
