Whose grave is widely said to carry a curse against whoever disturbs it?

A

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare’s grave carries this inscription as its epitaph. Shakespeare is considered by many, the greatest writer of all time. Born in Warwickshire, England, his contribution to English Language and literature is immense.

William Shakespeare lived between the late 16th century and early 17th century. During this period, it was a common act for dead bodies to be exhumed and used for research purposes. It was said that Shakespeare dreaded such an act and hated it.

Before his death, he had purportedly written his own epitaph which read:

“My dear friend, for Jesus’ sake, do not try to exhume my body. Anyone who tries to move my bones shall be cursed”.

These inscriptions can be clearly seen on his grave at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
