A challenge that modern presidents face is leading their political party – choice A. The president of the US is the de facto leader of the political party that he used to get into office. The political party is the vehicle the president uses and that means they have to win the internal election first. The president has various powers as provided for in Article II of the constitution.
Among his responsibilities is to appoint most of the officials before Congress can veto them. The work of the president is mainly to promote the position of their party by proposing agreeable and capable members to important positions. A president can also give executive orders, recognize foreign nations and give pardons. All the same, these duties and powers are not as important as leading the political party.
