Jackie Robinson was a major league, Baseball player. He was the first African- American to play in that capacity. He wrote the letter to President Eisenhower to garner his support for eradicating systemic racism against black people. This did not just stem from being a target of racism but also from the fact that he was part of a corporation to support black people’s civil rights. He continually wrote to Presidents of the United States expressing his sentiments about different issues relating to racism. These issues included the prevention of students from going to school because of their skin color, and his request was for military support to come and enforce the rights.
