A

Answer: A. Segregation could lead to feelings of inferiority.

The idea of separate but equal facilities for whites and blacks being constitutional was established by The Plessy v. Ferguson case in 1896. With this, there were different schools for white students and black students. However, racial discrimination still existed as it was noticed that many of the facilities made for whites were far better than the ones made for black students. The schools for white students were bigger, neater, had more teachers, had more equipment, and newer books. A sharp contrast to what was available in all-black schools. The Brown v. Board of Education case was made to counter this racial segregation in schools. In general, racial segregation in public schools violated the Fourteenth amendment to the United States constitution which is against states denying equal protection to any person within their power. Segregation leading to feelings of inferiority was a statement implied by the decision in the Brown v. Board of Education case.
