Who is Tituba in The Crucible?

A

Tituba is a remarkable character in the play. She is the only black individual in the town of Salem, and a slave of the Reverend Parris. Tituba remains generally unseen, and her voice stays quiet because of her low social standing. Regardless of being one of the minor characters, she became notorious in this Puritan culture.

Tituba is a lady from Barbados. She practices something that the Puritans view as “black magic.” She does this because of the fact that Abigail schemingly influences her toward doing it. Although Tituba confesses, it is unknown what befalls her.
